Associate Principal

Nick Andrew

Nick returned to Henslow in 2017 following two years working in the UK where he advised clients on transactions across the UK, Europe, USA, South America, Asia and Australia. In the UK, Nick worked at KPMG in their M&A team and for a private equity owned media company as an M&A manager.  Nick originally joined Henslow in 2012 and prior to this commenced his career with PwC.

Nick has over 9 years M&A experience advising corporate, private equity and HNW clients on a range of complex buy-side, sell-side and capital raising engagements.  Nick’s international experience was focused on the Technology, Media and Consumer Goods & Retail sectors.

Nick is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has completed a Masters in Applied Finance and Bachelor of Commerce.

Nick is a keen surfer and enjoys spending his weekends down on Victoria’s Surf Coast.

ANALYST

Lucien Armstrong

Lucien originally studied graphic design, graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Design and working professionally as a designer for 2 years. He then studied a Master of Finance at Monash University, graduating on the Dean’s list for his class.

Lucien’s career to date has covered a broad range of business experience ranging from start-up business consulting to investment banking and corporate advisory work and he now leverages his skill-set as part of Henslow’s dedicated corporate team.

He has worked and continues to work voluntarily with youth in the juvenile justice system through Whitelion and he received the Whitelion Chairman’s Award in 2017 for his outstanding contribution to the program over the previous 4 years.

Kristie Barton

Kristie joined Henslow as Team Assistant in 2016. She has extensive experience in the Administration and HR side of Accounting and Finance firms having worked at PKF in Auckland, New Zealand and Moore Stephens in Melbourne.

ASSOCIATE

Sebastian Bell

Sebastian began his career in Los Angeles with New Century Capital Partners in corporate advisory where he primarily assisted on transactions in the medical device field. After moving back to Australia, he joined Henslow in 2015 working primarily within their corporate team advising on M&A and capital raisings.

Whilst at Henslow, Sebastian has worked on a broad range of transactions across both the private and public markets building key skills to better advise clients throughout a transaction process.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Having an interest in the hospitality sector, Sebastian would one day like to open a hospitality venue. Enjoying the occasional game of tennis, he is also a member of Royal South Yarra Tennis Club.

Darcy Carroll

Darcy is currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws double degree at Monash University.

Darcy joined Henslow in 2018, and has previous experience in both legal and commercial roles

Steve Chapman

Prior to joining Henslow, Steve was a co-founder and director of Baron with over 30 years’ experience of providing independent corporate advisory services and was previously an executive director of Morgan Grenfell.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UNSW and an MBA from the University of Adelaide. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Foundation Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Steve is the Chairman of Blackmores and an independent director of ANZ Wealth Group, a subsidiary of the ANZ Bank. He is a former Deputy Chairman of Perpetual.

Tim Chapman

Tim has over 14 years experience in financial services. Tim has advised and worked on a myriad of capital raising for public and private companies through initial public offerings, reverse take-overs, private placements and rights issue as well as many merger and acquisition transactions.

Principal

Adam Dellaway

Adam has over 17 years of investment markets experience gained from roles in institutional stockbroking and funds management.

These roles include institutional research & sales trading and buy side equities dealing. Over this time Adam’s focus has primarily been on ASX listed micro & small cap companies. Adam has a Bachelor of International Business and graduate diploma of applied finance.

James Emonson

Commencing his career with Melbourne based boutique accounting firm Stockdale & Associates, James joined Henslow in 2016, working predominantly in the public markets arm of the business.

James’ experience spans a range of corporate broking services, including equities research, capital raisings, investor relations and general corporate strategic advice, to both public and private Company’s.

Since working at Henslow, James has focussed on small to mid-cap sized companies, resulting in exposure to a diverse range of business models and industries.

James holds a Commerce Degree with a major in Finance and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.).

James spent several years managing hospitality businesses, instilling a strong passion for coffee and food.

Executive Assistant

Grace Fitzsimmons

Grace joined in 2011 as Executive Assistant being one of the longest serving employees at Henslow. Grace serves as a primary contact for external offices, along with supporting the growing team & providing administrative, secretarial & office management assistance.

Grace has previously worked in top tier law firms in both Australia and the UK.

ANALYST

Robert Foy

Rob joined Henslow’s Corporate team in August 2016. Prior to joining Henslow, Rob commenced his career in London, UK at Crowe Clark Whitehill (Crowe Horwath International) in their global lead advisory division before taking up an analyst role at an independent boutique advisory firm.

Whilst at Henslow, Rob’s experience in Corporate Advisory includes mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, IPOs and strategic reviews for both public and private companies. He has helped advise on both sell-side and buy-side transactions across various industries including pharmaceuticals & healthcare, fintech, specialised finance, and retail.

Rob attended California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, California, USA, attaining his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an accounting concentration.

Born and bred in New Zealand, Rob was awarded an NCAA Division I tennis scholarship to Cal Poly to attend university and to further his competitive tennis. After spending many years overseas in the USA and UK, he returned to the southern hemisphere to take up the opportunity at Henslow. As a member of the Royal Park Tennis Club in Melbourne, Rob’s Saturdays are spent battling on the clay courts in the hopes of hoisting the team trophy at the end of the tennis season.

Peter Fraser

Prior to joining Henslow, Peter was a director of Baron since 2000. He has over 25 years’ experience of providing independent corporate advisory services and previously held senior advisory and management positions within Hambros merchant bank.

Peter has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Strathclyde University and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Nathan Giffin

Nathan has 15 years commercial experience in a variety of markets in both Europe and Australia. His passion for understanding the customer and managing change align to create a continuous improvement attitude he brings to Credo and its offering to customers. Always keen for open discussion with his internal team and customers, through collaboration he is focussed on Credo and its people being the market leading retail services partner.

Josh King

Josh has been working with local and multinational clients for the last 6 years. Commencing his career with EY in Melbourne, he spent 2 years in the Assurance division before moving to the Transactions Advisory Services practice where he became a manager. Josh joined the Henslow team in 2018.

Josh has advised on a range of complex local and cross-border transactions relating to trade sale, acquisition and IPO processes for corporate and private equity clients. His experience covers a broad range of sectors including consumer products, technology, agriculture and mining.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys playing golf, travelling and watching live music.

Associate Principal

Amir Lefkovic

Amir has over thirteen years’ corporate advisory experience advising both mid-market private and ASX-listed companies. Amir’s corporate advisory experience includes a range of sell-side, buy-side, capital raising and other transactions across various sectors. Amir has advised clients across the entire deal cycle, from origination through to implementation.

Prior to joining Henslow, Amir worked in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice providing services including transaction management, separation and integration support. Amir held previous Corporate Finance / M&A advisory roles as an Associate Director at PwC, Hawksburn Capital & Advisory and was an M&A and Strategy Development Manager at Origin Energy.

Amir holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Information Systems from The University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment at Kaplan Professional.

Amir is currently completing the Governance Foundations for Not-For-Profit Directors program from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Amir is an avid football fan, and can be found at the MCG most weekends supporting the Collingwood Football Club.

Amir is a participant in Jewish Care’s Yesod Program and is a Jewish Care sub-committee member.

Justin Lewis

Justin has 18+ years professional experience in both equity capital markets and corporate advisory. Justin has significant cross-border experience having advised multiple clients both in Australia and the UK – Justin is a UK native who moved to Australia over 10 years ago.

Justin has built strong expertise within the resources and energy sector, holding current and former directorships with a number of listed and unlisted companies, both domestic and international.

Justin is a former Non-Executive Director of Manas Resources (ASX:MSR) and Armidale Capital (AIM-listed investment company focused on resources projects).

Peter Marks

Peter has 20 plus years experience in corporate finance, specialising in capital raisings (for listed and unlisted companies), underwritings, initial public listings and venture capital transactions.

Scott McInnes

Scott has 24+ years professional experience across corporate advisory, investment banking and chartered accounting working primarily with small–mid market private and public growth businesses.

Scott has developed strong industry knowledge and transactional experience within the food & beverage and transportation/logistics sectors having advised on and completed a number of significant transactions.

Previously, Scott was the Director of Growth and Acquisition Finance at Investec Bank Plc where he advised on debt and equity solutions for small and mid-market companies.

Prior to Investec, Scott was a Director of Transaction Services at Pitcher Partners (Melbourne), a position he accepted after moving back to Australia following 4 years in the UK as an Associate Partner at Smith & Williamson, one of the UK’s leading accounting firms.

Scott is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and was previously a Non-Exec Director of a private equity-backed mining services company.

Scott is a Founding Member and President of the Irvine Club Inc (2008 & 2018), an association which operates business networking events and to date has raised over $2.0m for under-funded and under-exposed charities.

Jack McIntosh

Jack is currently an intern at Henslow and is a final year Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws student at Monash University.

Prior to joining Henslow in 2018, Jack worked within the legal industry.

Simon Miller

Simon’s career includes 12 years of entrepreneurial ownership through to successful exit and more than 15 years of senior P&L leadership roles with US and European multinationals.

Demonstrated success as a business leader with solid track record in strategy development, capability alignment and implementation through to M&A in both growth and turn round phases.

Proven ability to anticipate, challenge and interpret key business drivers to develop, align and implement coherent strategy.

High level integrity, creative problem solving, heavy duty resilience with tenacity to drive growth, improve earnings and set-up high performing collaborative teams.

 

NEO Products, CEO

Michael Mitchell

Mike Mitchell is the Managing Director of Neo Products, Australia’s premier supplier of Self Service Kiosk Solutions to the Retail, Racing & Wagering, Healthcare, Border Control, Education, Corrections and Community & Government sectors.

Neo Products’ custom design and engineering solutions help its clients streamline complex processes, deliver efficient customer service and provide a brand point-of- presence.

Mike has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and transportation industries. He started his career at NEC, before joining Neo Products as Operations Manager, a role he held for 20 years. Mike then spent time at Metro Trains and Evan Evans before returning to Neo as CEO and Managing Director in 2015.

Under Mike’s leadership, Neo Products have won and retained a prestigious portfolio of clients, within Australian and NZ Border Control; Racing and Wagering both here and NZ; Corrections services; Government departments; the Australian Army, the UK’s employment services and leading retailers.

Neo works closely with manufacturers and integrators and Mike has built and manages valued and respected partnerships with industry-leading organisations including IBM, Toshiba, Zebra, Safran and Lenovo. Mike holds a degrees in Electronics Engineering and Production Management from RMIT University.

Chief Financial Officer

James Olarenshaw

James is a chartered accountant with 10 years of experience across industry and professional services in both Australia and UK.

Commencing his career with KPMG’s Melbourne office, James worked within the consumer & industrial markets and energy & natural resource sectors, on various size clients which included BHP Billiton, Incitec Pivot, Toll Group, Rip Curl Group, BMW Australia and Hawthorn Football Club. After 5 years working in professional services, James moved across to commercial finance within Coles and became the Finance Business Partner of Coles Brand. After two successful years at Coles, James took the opportunity to move to London and work as both the Head of Finance at Browns the subsidiary of Farfetch, a private equity backed luxury fashion retailer and Financial Controller of Lipsy, a multi channel retailer which had been recently acquired by multinational retailer Next plc (FSTE 100).

Kate Sharplin

Kate joined Henslow in 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Finance & Marketing. Prior to joining Henslow, Kate worked at stockbroking firm, Morgans Financial.

Antony Sormann

Antony has more than 20 years in investment banking, corporate and legal advisory services.

After a brief time as a lawyer with Jerrard & Stuk, Antony spent 7 years with Rothschild including two years in the Group’s New York office. He then spent 9 years as a director at SLM Corporate. After 3 years as an Executive Director managing Keybridge Capital, Antony joined Henslow as part of the Corproate and Capital teams.

Antony’s experience spans a diverse range of transactions and corporate advisory roles across both small and large public companies and private enterprises. His skills focus on general strategic advice, mergers and acquisitions (both sell side and buy side), private capital raising and transaction structuring. He has advised across many industries but has particular knowledge and expertise in the telecoms, technology, retail, and business services sectors.

Antony holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University.

Antony is currently a director of MSP Photography (Australia’s premier School Photography company), and has been a director of a number of small ASX listed companies including Dotz Nano and PTB Group. He was also formerly a director and President of the Melbourne chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organisation.

Owen Symington

Owen began his career in working in New York, consulting for high growth venture backed companies across a wide range of industries and verticals. Since moving back to Australia, Owen further diversified his experience by running finance and operations for a tech start-up. Owen Joined the Henslow Team in 2018. Owen holds a Bachelor from Yale University majoring in Economics.

Chris Tait

Chris has been advising local and multinational companies for more than 25 years.

Commencing his career with Deloitte’s London office, where he became a director, he became the head of Strategy and Acquisitions for WHSmith PLC, before moving to Melbourne in 2001 to become the regional CFO for WH Smith Asia Pacific which included the acquired businesses Angus and Robertson and Whitcoulls. After successfully exiting those businesses for WH Smith in 2004, he left the large corporate world and became an active investor and strategic adviser to small and medium sized growth companies. He is one of the founders of Henslow, establishing the company in 2011.

Chris’s experience spans a large number of private and public enterprises. His skills focus on general strategic advice, mergers and acquisitions (both sell side and buy side), private capital raises and transaction structuring. He has advised across many industries but has particular knowledge and expertise in the retail, tourism, media and technology sectors.

He was educated in England, attended City University, London and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Chris is a co-founding director of Henslow and chairman of Henslow investee companies, Atomos, Neo Products and Credo.

Jonathan Tooth

Jonathan has 25+ years professional experience in corporate finance and public markets with a core expertise in ECM and M&A, primarily servicing small to mid-market companies and with particularly strong sector expertise within FMCG, financial services and technology.

Over this period, Jonathan has been involved in over 20 IPOs, ECM transactions that have collectively raised in excess of $2.5B, and M&A transactions with a combined enterprise value exceeding $2B.

Prior to Henslow, Jonathan was a Director and the Head of Corporate Finance at Austock Group, a role he held for over 10 years.

Previously, Jonathan worked in the corporate departments of two other Tier 2 brokerage firms in Melbourne and Perth and with The international firm’s corporate planning and development arm.

Jonathan is currently a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed – Austock Group (ASX:ACK), Vita Life Sciences (ASX:VSC) and Sensera Ltd (ASX:SE1).

Jonathan is also a member (Chair of the investment committee) of the Melbourne Angels, an early-stage investor group focused on high-growth Australian businesses

Jonathan is a avid ice hockey player and spends his weekends managing a small farm in country Victoria.

Peter Ward

Peter has 25+ years professional experience in equities sales, corporate finance, research and stock broking/trading with a primary focus on the wholesale and institutional markets both in Australia and SE Asia.

Over his career, Peter has developed considerable industry experience across the small cap markets with particular knowledge of the industrial, financial services, healthcare, agriculture, energy and technology sectors, having advised on and completed multiple capital raisings in support of companies growth initiatives.

Prior to joining Henslow in 2012, Peter held senior institutional research sales and corporate advisory roles with leading small cap equities houses Southern Cross Equities and Austock Group.

Prior to his small cap focus, Peter worked for several leading multinational stockbrokers across trading/research and sales roles including senior offshore postings in New York and Jakarta.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Business (Business and Finance) from Monash University.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys spending time with his young family as well as surfing, golf and fishing.

Ryan Whitelegg

Ryan has 23+ years professional experience within corporate finance, stock broking, private equity and research roles with a focus on both listed and unlisted companies.

Over his career, Ryan has gained considerable experience within the general industrial and health care sectors and has a strong track record of building and investing in entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses.

Prior to Henslow, Ryan was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Austock Group, overseeing the Corporate and Securities, Property and Asset Management, Private Equity and Life Insurance businesses.

Prior to becoming COO, Ryan was an Executive Director of Austock Securities and Corporate businesses and established and ran the Private Equity operations. Ryan was also responsible for growing the Research department from zero to 20+ employees whilst maintaining profitability and positioning it as Australia’s highest rated non-bulge bracket Research department.

Ryan is currently a Non-Executive Director of Boardroom Pty Ltd, a growing tech-focused share registry and corporate secretarial company, as well as Red Door, an emerging food wholesaler.

Outside of work, Ryan is a keen golfer who is gradually working on improving his handicap down to single figures.

INTERN

Andrew Wilson

Andrew is graduating from a Master’s degree of Banking and Finance at Monash University in 2018.

Holding a Bachelor of Science from the Queensland University of Technology his experience includes; pharmacokinetic research at the Translational Research Institute, tutoring first year statistics units and representing his university as a student ambassador.

Andrew joined Henslow in 2017 and balances track & field with volunteering as a resident adviser at the Monash Residential Halls.

Andrew Woodmore

Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in investment banking, management consulting and business. He advises clients across a wide range of sectors in M&A, capital raising and strategic initiatives.

Paul Young

Prior to joining Henslow, Paul was a co-founder and director of Baron with over 30 years’ experience of providing independent corporate advisory services. Paul has acquired extensive international reach through being country head since 1995 for Oaklins and, prior to founding Baron in 1987, as a divisional director of Morgan Grenfell, an international merchant bank.

Paul has a Masters Degree in Economics from Cambridge University and an Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a Foundation Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is a director of the ASX listed Ambition Group, Byron Energy and OPUS Group and a former Chairman of Peter Lehmann Wines.

ANALYST

Tina Zhao

Tina has over 3 years of professional experience across corporate advisory, investment banking and asset management. She joined Henslow in 2017. Prior to that, Tina had worked at Ping An Asset Management Co., Ltd., China’s second largest asset management company, in Shanghai. She also held internship experience at Morgan Stanley and Ernst & Young.

Tina’s experience spans mergers and acquisitions (both sell side and buy side), capital raises and direct investments across infrastructure, real estate and municipal sectors.

Tina holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Master of Finance degree from the University of Melbourne. She was a visiting student to Stern School of Business, New York University in 2011.

Tina is proficient in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. She enjoys playing tennis and practising yoga in her spare time.

Mike Green

Mike founded Green Capital Partners in January 2013 after moving from New York City to Melbourne. Mike has extensive experience in investments in the Consumer Products, Retail and Distribution industries. Mike currently sits on the Board of Red Door Asia-Pacific Pty Ltd and About Life Investors Holdings Pty Ltd.
